Selecting the right employee for an off shore appointment is a challenge.  It is a major investment and the wrong decision can be costly: between 10 and 15% of offshore placements fail every year, costing between $(US) 250,000 and $(US) 1 million per individual, depending on the package (Earley et al, 2006). Additional costs include downtime at work, disruption at home and damage to an organisation's reputation.

With international relocation comes the stress of leaving behind family, friends and familiarity. Often job selection does not take into account a person's ability to work with people from other cultures.

Leadership Strategies works with you to select the best people for roles where employees need to have particular leadership styles and cultural awareness.   We undertake psychological and cultural assessment of candidates to determine their capabilities for working on international assignments. The type of assessments we can perform for you include

A person selected because of their personality traits, cultural capabilities and the requisite leadership qualities is likely to succeed on an overseas assignment. This is especially important for senior appointments. 

Once the candidate is selected, Leadership Strategies also has extensive training programs and courses as well as development and support while they are on their posting.

On their return home Leadership Strategies can provide coaching through our repatriation program for successful repatriation.
